Recently, a chain of experiences reminded me of something important: to find greater professional satisfaction, we should do our best to be mindful of every second of every day.

First, I went on vacation and took the NY Times Bestseller book, “Thinking, Fast and Slow,” by Daniel Kahneman to read. I was captivated.

When I got back, I read this powerful post on Fast Company about the one habit that makes life better.

Then, I read this post on LinkedIn that reminded me my actions our more important than my activities.

Finally, I posted this question on LinkedIn and was overwhelmed by the power of reader’s comments: Can a Statement Shape Your Career?

The result? I’ve felt more self-aware and professionally satisfied this week than I have in months – and it feels great.

So, tell me readers: What’s taught you that every second of every day counts?

And more importantly…

What do you do to be mindful to live each second fully?

Let’s face it, even the best of us wastes time worrying and thinking about things that, ultimately, don’t matter. So, I’d love to hear what you are doing to keep self-aware and engaged in the moment. We all know it’s not easy!

Tell me your stories in the comments below.

P.S. – First time reading my posts? Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Not only do I write for Linkedin, but I’m also founder of a popular career advice site,CAREEREALISM,and currently run the career coaching program,CareerHMO. I hope you’ll check them both out!
